When we lead others, it is so important that we understand as much as we can about ourselves first. Self leadership is one of the hardest forms of leadership as it requires us to really open up to challenging our perceptions of who we are. When we come from a place of value, respect and love for self, it gives us the strength and awareness to reciprocate those same feelings toward others.
There is a common misconception that in order to be a leader one has to be stern, positional and separate from the people that they lead; however, nothing can be further from the truth. The best leaders inspire greatness in others, the value others and they demonstrate care and respect for people.
If we are going to lead, we must first be willing to change ourselves for the better. Nothing wreaks havoc in a work environment or relationship than unresolved baggage. When we improve ourselves, we connect better with others.
Have a blessed day,
