Trending Tuesdays: Fashionista Jessica Simpson’s a mommy!

Today we are starting our Tuesday series called Trending Tuesdays.  Each of our posts will focus on a hot topic for the day.  What’s buzzing today?

If you haven’t heard by now, the infamous singer and fashion designer Jessica Simpson just gave birth to a healthy (and robust 9 lbs. 13 oz.) baby girl. We’re happy for Jessica and her fiancè, this is an exciting time.

Why do we even care or are we somewhat intrigued by what happens in the lives of celebrities? Well, for one sometime they serve as a source of inspiration. Most, including Jessica are known for having extraordinary talent, charismatic personalities and a life that many wish that they could live (at least, based on how things appear on the surface).

Here are a few reasons why we like Jessica Simpson:

1. She’s somewhat of an underdog: Yes, if you’ve seen her previous reality show with her former husband Nick Lachey (whose  wife Vanessa Minnillo is expecting) you might have thought her to be a wee bit airheadish. No? She also has been the victim of some really bad press poking fun at her weight gain, mom jeans, bad relationships just to name a few. Nonetheless, despite her woes she managed to surround herself with the right people and has made some pretty smart business and life decisions.

2. She’s a saavy Business woman: It takes hard work to be a musician who gets any respect these days, it’s even harder to carry a fashion line that earns respect from the masses and has the longevity her clothing and accessory lines have seen.

3. She’s got a keen sense of style:  Ok, ok we admit she has had a few faux paux’s but who hasn’t? She and her team have a good eye for putting out  pieces for the ‘everyday’ woman that are affordable and stylish. Check out some pieces from her collections on ShopStyle.com. I personally love her shoe collections, they are affordable, on trend and sometimes practical.

Now that she will be preoccupied with her mini-me who knows what we can expect from her in the near future. One thing that is probably certain is that today, nothing else in this world even matters other than her little girl Maxwell.
