Maternity Style: Accsexyorizing
In our Style Secrets segment we discussed the basics that all soon to be mommy’s should consider stocking up on in their closet. In this post we will show you how to accessorize these basics. We call it Accsexyorizing!
Rock Star Chic
To get this look: Coordinate a basic tank top with a printed tulip skirt (ideally with a loose waist band). Add a fitted denim jacket to keep the look cool. Add jewellery, a cascading black chain necklace, a stud earring, a studded bracelet and a stack of gold bangles add arm candy to sweeten the look. Last but certainly not least throw on a pair of peep toe gold and cream studded toe pump. Oh and how could we forget…neon tote bag.
Romantically Speaking
To get this look: A peach cotton maxi dress is the perfect comfort dress for a mom-to-be. The fabric flows softly against your skin and molds to your figure. To dress up this basic garment, throw in a dangling gold tassel necklace, a braided and stacked brown high heel sandal, a multi coloured straw bag and a bucket of arm candy. A link watch with an enamel and a leather wrap bracelet to finish off the look. Remember to keep you toes pweety. Be care ful though, these heels are high so these are ‘car to door’ heels.
Casual Chic
To get this look: Going for a stroll with your little pumpkin in tow? Throw on a fitted short sleeve dress. Grab a slim belt and tie it low on your waist. Add a bit of a character to the look with a printed scarf, stacked arm candy, cool as a celebrity aviators, a soft leather clutch and neutral low heel cognac flats.
Denim Girl
To get this look: For the yummy mummy who cannot leave her denim behind. Not to worry, there are many options as we told you in our earlier post. Pair a slim fit pair of denim with a basic white or off white scoop neck T. Throw a printed and energetic coloured kimono cover up to take your look to the next level. Don’t forget your sunnies, buttery polish in coral and a vibrant clutch. On your feet opt for golden chain sandals. To sweeten things up a bit, spray on some fragrance and you are ready to go.
Ladies, being pregnant makes some women feel less attractive than they really are and it’s really important to take time out to pamper yourself. I’m with you on this one. After seeing my body balloon to what is now month five, I had to ensure that I made a conscious effort to keep my style up. The first trimester can leave you feeling kinda funky can’t it? Well, if you are still there or are well past that point do know that you deserve to be stylish and sexy.
If you experience people who are socially challenged and they bombard you with inappropriate questions try not to let the comments get you down, simply dust the dirt off your shoulders and celebrate the awesome changes that are happening to you. In a short while, you will have a cute little cherub to dress so might as well practice getting your style perfected.
Stay tuned for our post tomorrow where we will feature a local maternity clothing designer.
Until next time, stay fabulous!
