There’s something about his style…
I have a hard time remembering when it was that I first fell in love with men’s fashion. You see as a young girl, I was raised by a single dad. My dad was no ordinary Joe. When it came to fashion, he knew a thing or two. It also helped that he fraternized with the coolest of the cool. His friends were the guys that all of the ladies wanted to be around. They had some of their clothing bespoke (tailor made), my dad’s shoes were always polished and never would you find him with a hair out of place. Some preferred the extravagance of bold linen suits with matching shoes while others, like my father were fine with classic suit vests, dress shirts and slim slacks. Down to the cologne was chosen strategically. No they were not metrosexuals, I saw my dad and his friends as Jamaican dappers with major swag.
I have a love for clothing and style but I must tell you when it comes to the art of men’s fashion…I am always mesmerized. Though I am very ‘girly’, nothing says comfort to me more than a pair of comfortable fitting trousers. I also love a well constructed suit. There is so much beauty in men’s clothing that it takes a really discerning eye to see it and appreciate it for more than it’s seemingly ‘simple’ nature (of which it is far from simple).
