Value Village Grand Opening-The $30 Style Challenge

October 12, 2011 No Comments by Teca

Last week I had the pleasure of dressing the fabulous staff at Value Village Mississauga. These folks were such good sports. Working with people like them is what makes my job so enjoyable. Stylist, Curt Greenidge and I were on site for the VIP Grand opening event of the Value Village located at Hurontario and Bristol Road in Mississauga. We styled eleven employees and were given one requirement, style the staff for less than $30, excluding shoes. Neat, we thought. Surely we can do this.

We entered the store and immediately noticed that there were racks upon racks of clothing that we needed to scour to find the perfect pieces to create the looks. Working with varying body types, skin tones, personal style preferences, a budget limitation of $30 per outfit and a limited amount of time…we embarked on the challenge. It was exciting to say the least. Value Village carries a range of new and gently used clothes that are pretty current, of good to exceptional quality at bargain basement prices.

Overall, we hit it out of the park. The staff were thrilled with their looks and we were happy that we were able to contribute to such a memorable event. Here are a few before and after pics from the event.

I previously posted about my friend Melissa’s purchases when she and I visited the store on Thursday (the actual opening). In my next post, I will also show you some of the fab pieces that I got as well. Value Village is the place to shop if you are really on a budget but still want to look great. Never mind, some of the best clothes that others put away are found in between their walls. To find the location nearest to you visit www.valuevillage.com. Finding the right pieces does require a bit of patience, and not all locations are created equal but if you know what to look for, you will always leave… a happy camper.
