You’re a what kind of Consultant?
“An image…is not simply a trademark, a design, a slogan or an easily remembered picture. It is a studiously crafted personality profile of an individual, institution, corporation, product or service”. Daniel J. Boorstin

Yes my friend, you heard correctly… I am an Image Consultant.
‘So does that mean you help people with their photographs?’ Not quite. Let me explain…
As an Image Consultant I provide coaching and training to people and companies on appearance, behaviour and communication. I help people to look stunningly radiant, communicate effectively and conduct themselves in a professional and/or socially acceptable way. I also help businesses to optimize on their staff’s ability to communicate their brands messages through the way they look, speak and behave. You might ask, why is this even important? Why do Image Consultant’s have to change people?
Well, the truth is that our intention is not to ‘change’ people, at least not this Image Consultant. Our services are aimed at ‘refining’ and ‘polishing’ the attributes and skills of others who seek out our help. As someone who is trained in the physiological, social, physical, and artistic elements of image, my expertise is invaluable to people who are not familiar with these concepts or who simply do not have the time to devote to gaining this expertise. They are looking for someone who can quickly evaluate their situation, diagnose their problem and provide them with a workable solution that will improve their overall image. The same idea goes for companies as well.
Ok let me break it down for you with a few examples, case studies if you will…
Social: Jamie really wants to improve her social life but has been having difficulty getting the courage to even walk out of the door each morning. Jamie is concerned about her appearance, at the age of 30 she feels uncomfortable in her skin and clothing. She has not quite yet figured out how to get her ‘look’ to mature with her age. She wants to be approachable but feels strongly that her current appearance is holding her back. She decides it is time for her to get some help and begins to search for an Image Consultant who can help her identify, diagnose and resolve her problems.
Professional: Tobin is a young executive candidate. He has worked for his company as a junior analyst for the past 7 years and has all of the demonstrated technical competencies to move up within his company. His superiors are convinced that he has potential to grow within the company but that he is missing something but they are waiting to see if he will improve. Tobin knows that he has potential but is uncertain that he has the knowledge or the ‘personality’ to deal with the demands of being a leader. He recognizes that he could use some soft skills training on how to handle conflict, business etiquette, how to be a confident speaker, how to be more aware of himself and; essentially, how to be strategic in developing his brand to move him to the next level of his career. He also knows that if he really wants to be promoted that he will have to dress like an executive. Faded khakis with, thrifty faded button down shirts, broken down hush puppies and an unkempt mohawk will no longer cut it for his ideal career. He gives his career further thought and decides it’s time to see an Image Consultant.
Corporate: ‘We Are Excellent Mortgage Realtors’ is a successful real estate company seeking to expand its team. It has a great team of professionals…for the most part. There are a few individuals who management have identified as needing a bit of polish to fix some internal conflicts and customer service problems that have been occuring. Rather than singling out these individuals or letting them go after years of investing in them, management chooses to consider offering a group seminar on ‘Dressing and Personal Branding for Business Success’ in which a consultant conducts a presentation on the various elements of professional attire, communicating professionally with clients, dealing with difficult people and diversity coaching etc. The objective of the session is to provide the staff with the tools needed to conduct their jobs effectively but also to ensure that all staff are in alignment with the company’s vision for its growing brand. ‘We are Excellent Mortgage Realtors‘ quickly seeks out the assistance of Teca Cameron Image Management Agency.
Philanthropy/Community: A charitable organization wants to empower young people to go after their dreams and in doing so, to become confident productive members of society. The organization seeks out the assistance of an Image Consultant/Self image coach to conduct a workshop to educate youth on the importance of image in their social lives and also at work. Its a win-win situation. Teca Cameron Image Management Agency gets to give back to the community while young people get to recognize their true potential.
